Have a Play!

I'm Bev Appleby 👋

I'm a certified level 1 Iyengar Yoga teacher here in Worthing, West Sussex, UK.

I have been teaching general level classes for beginners and improvers for 8 years in person and online.

It is a pleasure to be able to pass on what I have learnt on my yoga journey so far and I hope to see you in a class soon 😀

My Story

My personal Yoga practice totals 18 years and in that time I have been fortunate enough to have been guided, taught and accessed by senior level Iyengar teachers, many of whom I maintain my practice with regularly. I have also spent time in India over several short and longer term trips. These experiences have enhanced my entire Yoga understanding further.

I was drawn to Iyengar yoga because of the indepth understanding that Iyengar teachers shared. The network of Iyengar practioners extends globally so wherever I am, I'm always able to find an Iyengar yoga class to join.

I wasn't particularly athletic growing up and I am not naturally flexible. In fact,  I could bearly touch my toes when I started yoga! I had little strength, stamina or will but body awareness soon came about when I started to practice Iyengar yoga. I injured myself (torn meniscus) in my early twenties but I learnt to best manage and eventually heal this injury with Iyengar yoga.

I live a modern life, I manage family and financial commitments but I find that because integrate a regular Iyengar yoga practice into my life, I make necessary quiet time for myself in doing so whilst cultivating a continued sense of self awareness

I'm a practical and down-to-earth person who strives to remain light hearted and practice daily Satya (truth) in my thoughts and actions.

This is how I best share and teach Iyengar yoga.

My motto:

Eat well. Be kind. Do Yoga!
