Why yoga?

Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices originating in ancient India. The word yoga means ‘union’. Practicing postures and breathing with awareness develops harmony; which unifys the mind, body and spirit.

Iyengar yoga is named after BKS Iyengar who played a fundamental role in bringing yoga to the West. His teaching is a very approachable and practical method of pursuing yoga. The Iyengar method makes yoga safe and accessible to people of all ages, abilities and levels of fitness. The teaching focuses on correct alignment of the body in all yoga poses and this is so to gain maximum benefit of strength, flexibility and wellbeing.

Consequently, Iyengar yoga is the most practised form of Yoga in the world
